Thanks for this.  I'll investigate this possibility further.

Just for reference, I've included the analysis I said I'd post. For this
example, why is a4 choosen in the first, but c4 in the second?  I notice that
the final scores only differ by 0.06 in this example, but I still expected to
see the same analysis?!
