Yes you are correct.  In the UK the voltage is 220-240 at a frequency of 50 Hz.
The plug is different from the US but plug adaptors are readily available from
the airport or Dixons (when in the UK).

James - I would be extremely careful about bringing in a Desktop PC due to the
voltage differences.  If it's a laptop you will have no problems they usually
work anywhere in the world.
