On a server of a computerchess seller I have read something about: don't buy this program. It is not useful for beginners/learners. My question is now to those who have Rebel9, do you think that the database functions are inadequate ? Please don't name the distributor . I want to discuss about the topic: Is Rebel9 in the database functions really so needless ? From my point of viewe the database functions are great. I have million-base in ONE big rebel-database and copied it onto my harddisc. Rebel allows it to search for line, position, material and and and and it works pretty well. A strong chess-engine allows me to analyse the games. I don't know why this looks unprofessional or not easy to handle for beginners. Please you opinion. From my point of view all these reviews have one thing in common: often a program is written worser than it is to make the fame of another program higher. Of course the distributor sells THESE programs with more cash-flow. So there could be a connection between making A down and prefare selling B. How do you handle as a customer or hobbyist these affairs ? Does this make you angry ? It makes me angry because I am often in friendship with the programmers.
