Well I'd like to wonder what "greatest achievement" can mean, apart from the
obvious one that everyone thought of.

I think I'd consider any decent Chess program written by a good programmer with
an open source, which illustrates the various programming techniques clearly so
that the novice can learn, and thereby promote the subject to a wider audience
and increase the popularity of Computer Chess a "great achievement".  I wouldn't
dare to speculate about which program deserves the honour of being "first" in
this regard.
