No, I just mention the alterations I find useful. And since I use WinBoard a lot, the little things makes a difference. I find that WinBoard is a polished product as well, which is why I still use it, so if I like the changes made in WinBoard Plus, it can't consider it less polished than the original. >Polished? That problem has already been fixed along with bugs found by Carlos Pesce and I, which is why I used the term polished. The bugfixed version was released yesterday I believe and it doesn't cause me any problems. It's hardly surprising that bugs creep in when making alterations. That's not sufficient to evaluate the effort by Mark Williams as less significant. >Well-designed? ??????? Noone is trying to erase any credit that Tim Mann rightfully deserves. The appearence of WinBoard Plus suits me better and I said so. I don't share your evaluation of what can be considered minor or major changes. >I can understand stating your opinion about liking the style of WinBoard Plus >better, but making it out to be some terrific new program and heaping praise on >it seems incredible fickle, and disrespectful of all the work which Tim Mann put >into WinBoard. Nothing like that was implyed at all, which is very easy to see if you read what I wrote and not what you think I wrote. Accusing me of being disrespectful of the contribution made by Tim Mann is out of line IMO, considering the hours I've spent helping others with WinBoard and the hours I've used on the program, enjoying its capabilities and features. And, more importantly, I still do. >I hope this post hasn't come off as hostile or anything like that, but GEEEEEZ >does this fickle attitude of people switching to WinBoard plus after everything >that Tim has done for us, and with such little reason to do so, irk me beyond my >tolerance level! I use _both_ as I explained in my first post, which you would know if you read the entire thread. Did I write: "WinBoard is inferior to WinBoard Plus, so I would recommend doing so" or something to that effect. No, I did not. Peter Skinner asked me a question about my views on WinBoard Plus only and I replied. Best wishes... Mogens
