Sure it is complicated, but could be better than other solutions. I wou like to
see all the programs implement direct ICC support, but this is not yet the case.

About the costs: one of the two PC can be an old 486,m or you can shortcut two
ports like the com1 and com2 ahd let the winboard run in background. I've done
this with another adapter that runs winboard engines agains auto232 codes
directly.

In this case the taime sharing is between a program that plays, and another that
just sends moves to ICC, no need to turn off ponder.

I'll try to see if I manage to make Chess Academy play on FICS with one
machine...
