I haven't had time to try many programs on this very interesting position, but my Fritz 6 had problems with it, just the way you described. Interestingly enough, Shredder 3 too seemed to be baffled by the wealth of possibilities and when I pasted the FEN it messaged me about waiting for the engine! Hilarious. It is the extensions, that's why they can't probe deeper. Tja. Artificial stupidity can be unnerving at times. *** Djordje
