I don't think so.

Suppose you have a 10000 game database, and you search for Fischer. Say
this gives 5 games out of the 10000. There are two ways we can display
this

a) show ALL the games, with Fischer games in bold and the rest greyed
out

b) Just show the Fischer games

Both cases are useful, no ? Show hidden games is a toggle between (a)and
(b)
