This is being done, in Europe at least... but since the older program versions
are not in the center of interest anymore, it doesn't get mentioned often in the
net.
ChessBase offers Nimzo 99, the predecessor of Nimzo 7.32, for DM 19.90 for
delivery per email (DM 29.90 for the CD): http://www.chessbase.com/shopd/

At local book and CD stores here in Vienna, the previous version of a major
chess program, in a reissued version (audio CD box), is sold for ATS 149.90.
This is about $ 11.00 only. Unfortunately, this offer doesn't appear at the
website of this shops chain.
But the staple of those CD's seems not to shrink since several weeks now. Those
who know about the chess software scene, have long ago bought the program
already for the full price - and those who don't know who is who in computer
chess, may think it's too cheap and cannot be good.
