>  It sounds like you ARE questioning.  "Unrated", means nothing as to ones playing level. And I've done many tests, and have been in chess for quite some time.  If I went all-out to beat a computer in tournament timings, I have succeeded on a rare occasion (in winning),doing almost like that. I did with Hiarcs 6. and genius 2 was altogether easier.    According to many tests(and I think they are often unfair, e.g. "how good is your chess" by Danny King, where he doesn't give points for many good moves, simoly because he didn't think about it) I get close to master level on average. Except in opening knowledge.

   And GMs are human too. I'm sure that even Kasparov has on occasion lost his
queen or allowed checkmate, when playing with a computer whilst falling asleep,
or when in a very bad or disturbed mood.
