Lets look at this variation : 1..Bxa2 2. b3 Nd5 3. R7e4 Nb4 4. Rh4 *
Black can play f5, looks safe..White plays Ra1 and black has to "create" some
pressure on the rook or something to avoid white to play Be2/Bf1 and f3...
White can´t play Be2 or Bf1 instantly because of Nxc2 and then Nxd4...

I guess you´re partly right, it´s not losing but it gets very difficult to win
for black.

The plan a6-a5-a4 is a little slow and I don´t think black gets any time to play
that..
