Endgame Tablebases are the _definitive_ knowledge.  They tell you exactly
what you want to know as fast and cheep(time and processor wise) as anything.

I don't think any one is going to encode special knowledge other than the
tablebases because it _is_ the best way.  Although, being an amature at this,
I could easily be wrong.

I don't know windows.  I can use it (at work) but I know nothing about
programming it and don't plan to port Screamer or Ad_Hoc (the bitboard version
of Screamer) to another platform.  I do plan to convert it to OS X.

Also, with the new dual processor G4's, maybe try to learn some multiprocessing.
