Crafty picks h3 and has a draw evaluation. It is interesting because Kd8 seems to be the better move. We should give Fritz credit for a very good and creative choice. After Kd8, the "obvious" move Rd2+ leads to disaster. White is left with Bd5 and a small, negative eval. It's probably still going to end up a draw, but the choice of Kd8 is an excellent one. A beautiful piece of chess by Fritz, and I must admit there is zero chance that I [personally] would have played Kd8 in a game. Here is the position and the evaluation (for white -- reverse sign for black) after Kd8: [D]3k3r/8/p5r1/2p1Pp2/1pP2Pbp/1P2KB2/1P5R/6R1 w - - acd 16; acn 180861238; ce -22; pv Bd5 Rh7 Bg2 Kc7 Bf1 Rh8 Bh3 Kb6 Rd2 Rh7 Rh2; pm Bd5; id "C.A.P. 1478430";
