Chessmaster 7000 on a PIII-800: #1 -- Finds mate in 8 in 5 seconds: 1.Bd1 Re7+ 2.Kxe7 h2 3.Bc2+ Kh8 4.Rh6+ Kg7 5.Rg6+ Kh8 6.Kf8 Kh7 7.Kg8+ Kh6 8.Rh8++ #2 -- Incredibly (and I've seen The King do a lot), it responds instantly with a mate in 18 eval and the following PV: 1.Rxh7 Kxh7 2.Qh5+ K68 Two seconds later it appends 3.Rxg7+ Kxg7 Ten seconds later (12 seconds total) it appends 4.Bh6+ Kh8 5.Bg5+ Kg7 6.Qh6+ Kf7 7.Qf6+ Kg8 8.Qg6+ After 40 seconds, the next depth is reached and the eval and PV are the same as above. After 3:03, the move 8...Kh8 is appended. Didn't feel like waiting around for the full PV. jm
