Position is this:

[D]kbb2rr1/1p6/p3p1q1/PN1pB3/1n6/R3Q3/5PB1/6K1 W - -

Searchdepth=8 looks lines having four moves of white and four moves of black.
After 1. Qa7+ black has only one reply 1...Bxa7 which causes this line to
be searched to depth 9. In the mating line there are still 6 black's forced
moves, so all in all that line is searched to depth 15 while usual lines are
searched to depth 8.

Was this explanation better?

BTW: Nero is still very unfinished program. I develope it very slowly.
