Early versions of Crafty also did >this, but I eventually tossed it out for simplicity. Yes, it is a possibilty since the good old days. I am interested to know who does use it today. Since most null-mover doesn't need that (null-move is conservative and therefore less risky). Why I ask? Because I am able to configure ABC to search apparently bad moves less deep than "normal" ones. It speeds up the search but with higher risk. Alessandro
