Currently I could have the same problem in LambChop if I were to play a standard time control tournament right now. The thing is, on ICC the time control is never 'X moves in Y minutes', rather it is always 'ALL moves in Y minutes, plus Z seconds increment per move'. The upshot of this is that on ICC, you have a margin for error if you extend time on a fail low since you have initially allocated substantially less time for your current move than the total time you have left. Eg. in a 5 0 game, where you have 30sec left, you will probably allocate just a second or two for the current move. In a standard time control game you might have one move to make to reach the time control so you allocate practically all your remaining time to that move. In this case, you need to have some smarts to prevent time extending for fail low! These smarts AREN'T required on ICC.. > >--Peter
