I read that the programmer believe that they are not very important and cannot
give more than 15-20 elo and I hope this game will convince him that they are
important.

He claimed that there is a price of losing search depth but I do not agree with
it.

The opposite.
It may increase the search depth because you do not have to search some lines
when you know the result so you can increase the search depth in other lines.

It is also possible not to use tablebases at the leaves of the tree but only
some plies before the leaves(in case that there is a capture that lead to the
right number of pieces) and in this case it is clear that the time to search
some plies is bigger than the time to look at the tablebases so you only save
time.

The only case when you lose time is when there are not tablebases hits because
you have to check if the number of pieces is smaller than 6 after every capture
but I believe that this time is almost nothing and it is not important(I guess
that programs may be 0.1% slower because of this when there is no tablebase hits
and the meaning of this is clearly less than 1 elo rating).
