Dont get your hopes up on performance. A 1.4 GHz P4 is probably slower than a 1.1 GHz Athlon and PIII unless you plan to do only stream processing. And the guetimated price seems to be $2000 for the CPU and then you need two sticks of smelly RAMBUS until intel gets its SDRAM chipsets. Better to get a dual Athlon 1.5 GHz or PIII 1.2 GHz machine instead and save some money, the P4 is not SMP enabled (a really high-end version will be).
