this is what the author of bringer wrote to me...

there are two kinds of chessbase engines:

1. native engines, like Fritz, Junior, Crafty... Chessbase needs your source
code to compile them.
2. winboard engines which run in the Chessbase GUI: Chessbase has build an
"adapter" for winboard engines, which is available for free download at the
chessbase site. This includes a short text file with instructions how to get
it to work.

still doesnt answer my question though about, whether it is possible to compile
yourself a native version of CB

I remember reading a post in winboard forum about how to make your program CB
compatible.
cant seem to find it in the archieve....
anyone wants to give a helping hand?

ps, by the way i just e-mailed the author of goliath for necessary infos.
just to let you guys know there is a new version of lil goliathv2.9a (??)
some bug fixes ;)
