this is what the author of bringer wrote to me... --------------------------------------------------------------------------- there are two kinds of chessbase engines: 1. native engines, like Fritz, Junior, Crafty... Chessbase needs your source code to compile them. 2. winboard engines which run in the Chessbase GUI: Chessbase has build an "adapter" for winboard engines, which is available for free download at the chessbase site. This includes a short text file with instructions how to get it to work. Anyway, I recommend Frank Q.'s site for further information: http://www.in-trier.de/~quisinsky Hope this helps, Gerrit ----- Original Message ----- From: Princess Nas <nasreen@netpci.com> To: <reubold@online.de> Sent: Tuesday, August 22, 2000 5:29 PM Subject: chessbase compatible......... > Hi, > i was wondering about the chessbase version of bringer. > > my question is > > Q| do i need to give chessbase my source code so that they can make a CB > compatible version of engine? > > or can I make it my self? if so, how? > > i would really appreciate your prompt and informed reply. > > thanks > fan > ------------------------------------------------------------------ still doesnt answer my question though about, whether it is possible to compile yourself a native version of CB I remember reading a post in winboard forum about how to make your program CB compatible. cant seem to find it in the archieve.... anyone wants to give a helping hand? thanks pavel ps, by the way i just e-mailed the author of goliath for necessary infos. just to let you guys know there is a new version of lil goliathv2.9a (??) some bug fixes ;)
