I don't own the interface sources (.ENG file) of CB, but they give me some sources (headers) so that I could adapt the interface of the engine. > > also if used winboard adapter , is it just as good? It is more reliable and offers more options: - engine get information about BOTH clocks - displaying more details of the thinking process - hashtable size and other settings can be set without editing files (goliath.ini) > > waiting for informed and prompt answer hope the info was useful best regards Michael > > > thanks alot for your time > > pavel ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- yes i am probably wrong (to the fact that everyone can compile 'easily' an .eng version of their program) , but again no one in this world is perfect. I have the guts to accept my 'mistakes'. on the other hand, I am 'rightfully' right that it is not necessary to give out your source code to the 'CB guys' to make it compatible. the information that is needed to from the CB guys to make it compatible for CB?? where to get it?? i am know 100% positive that I read it on winboard forum posted by someone. but i cannot find the 'particular' post from the archieve :( I dont think the CB guys will say 'no' if you ask for it (the necessary info). 'but again' that wasnt the main issue ( we have gone far from that). the main issue was that 'what other options do we have, other than making the native version of crafty(CB) play in the SSDF' I said 'either BOB compiles one for CB or the SSDF guys use the auto232, which works as a pipe for CB interface and winboard' Bob said ' he doesnt know (or have any information) about how to compile one for CB GUI' Uri said ' there is no other way to compile one for CB unless the the Cb guys compiles themselves' ok lets say we have 'dicussed' the part that it is 'probably' possible to make a compiled version for CB without the native version. so that leaves "why not use the (winboard-CB) autoplayer?" (auto232??). another boring one...... sorry :) pavel
