Hi Chris,

Cilkchess will show up and play. I believe the format for this thing
will be extended to be more than 5 rounds. The time control may
shorten,
I'm not sure. This was discussed at length in Hong Kong but I do not
remember exactly what was decided.

Opinions on who will win? I think any good micro will have an outside
shot at it but we will be there to win. If Deep blue were to show up,
they would also be a favorite to win. Our program will be very strong
by then and I think we will have the best chance of winning but you
never know who might show up. We are hoping to have a LOT of hardware
too. It's still hard for any program (including Deep Blue) to win a
tournament with a lot of entrants because book preparation and a single
problem with evaluation heuristics can spoil your chances. The top
micro programs are formidable opponents for anyone!

When and where this tournament will be has not been decided as far as
I know. They are still looking for a sponsor.

Don
