Subject: MCP7 and DOS obstinacy

How much time we, purcharsers, must tolerate the obstinacy of some
programmers to give us DOS programs that only for being launched needs a
reconfiguration that puts in severe risk our serious, working programs?
Should we study assembler language of a PHd in computing sciences each
time we want to use a new chess program? I have lost many hours with
MCP7 and although I have some experience in config.sys and autoexec.
stuff and all that hoopla, I did not get anything, except chrashes and
hours lost for nothing. Dear Marty, if you ever read this, please forget
the pedantic views of that guys that insist in DOS because they get 0,3%
more Elo points and think a little more in the simple fact that almost
all PC users are windows users and think in the also simple fact that to
play chess is not the reason we have a PC. I think is hard to imagine
nobody willing to risk his serious, working programs just trying to use
a DIOS program in Windows platform. Enough is enough. From now on, I
will concentrate in genius, Schedder or Fritz family or in any
reasonable winfowed program. I got tired of all this.
Fernando
