This years tournament has some very interesting games, and interesting results. There were many surprises, and some great results. As most expected, Shredder won again ( Congrats Stefan ), and the ChessBase team did well. The Rebel Team was fantastic, and showed a great deal of patience in games, and did rather well. Congrats Ed and Christophe. James Robertson, and Rudolf Huber did very well with their programs. SOS did better than most expected, and Insomniac, I think shocked everyone. ZChess did very well. Congrats to it's author. I guess the biggest surprise was the result of Crafty. I thought it would do much better, but I don't really know what happened, but it seemed to struggle almost every game. Maybe there was some sort of program or book error, but regardless, I think many thought it would do much better. I did. So on to next year. I am very interested in getting together a group of people that would be interested, and can devote a great of time to trying to get the tournament to be held in North America. If anyone would be interested in this, please contact me. I have some great ideas, and I think I can get them to be realized.
