Hello Thorsten!

Sorry that I cannot agree with you... :)

I was one of the last 'mohicans' using DOS. I was a real DOS freak and
it took a long time before I realized that DOS is history. I had a boot
manager which let me decide if I wanted to boot with DOS or with Win95,
but last week I 'did it'. I formatted the hard disc and said goodbye to
DOS. The reason: Beside a few chess programs I don't know of ANY
commercial _new_ program that doesn't support Windows.

If a DOS program gets more hash tables than the Windows version the
programer has to take care of it. I can only speak of Nimzo: Here you
can in a very simple way manually adjust the size of the hash tables.
You do it once and that's it! If you want to test your hard drive, you
can set it to the maximum... :)

So its not only Windows' fault, the authors can do something!

Yes. _Very_ old!!! (I asked my sons!) :)

Sure, you can fight for DOS as long as you want and your reasons are
valid, but you cannot sell a program that doesn't support Windows these
days. Sad, but true. So you can insist on the 'better' operating system
and sell less units or you can follow Miro$oft and sell more units of
MChess, CSTal, ....

Your choice....

Best wishes
Andreas
