It's all crazy, and it changes somewhat.

In 1995 two professionals tied, and two amateurs tied for 4th with another
professional.  They awarded the absolute championship to one, and the
professional championship to the other, and the amateur title to one of the
amateurs, after a controversy.

In 1996, an amateur won, another amateur finished in 2nd, another one finished
in 3rd, and two professionals tied for 4th-7th.  They awarded an absolute title
to the first place finisher, and did a playoff between the 4th and 7th place
programs for the professional title.

In 1997 there was no tournament.

1998 was similar to 1996, except that the professional champion finished 2nd.

The 1999 hobby title was for programs that were eligible to sell their engine to
ChessBase, I think.  My program was eligible for that title, but I declined it,
since I'm too insane to be considered a hobbyist.
