If only a massive rating list such as ssdf can clearly indicate the relative strengths of chess programs, so what is the point of championships of a few games? Perhaps these championships and computer tournaments should have a clear porpose and function other than sample exhibition, if people say the results in themselves, mean nothing. S.Taylor
