It was just searching book lines, but the only possible moves it could play after a search were moves in the book. I had not coached Graham on this very well, and as a result, we had it mis-configured. It normally works just fine as it did in Jakarta... but here it was not set up right (I sent the setup file so it is clearly my doing). If a move in the book was marked with a !, which move 1 was, then it would play it with no searching. But once there were no ! moves, it built the ply-1 move list with only the book moves in it, and then did a normal search... If we had had time to play some games (as Jason and I did before Paris) this would have been fixed in the .craftyrc file so that it would have worked just fine. It would likely have still followed that line as the CAP scores were sucking it right down the line even though it was bad...
