The fact that Shredder has weaknesses in equal endgames that were not exposed in WMCCC say that shredder had a good book because the target of books is not to get good positions out of book but to get more points. If one program get more points than another program when the level of the engines is the same than the only possible reason is better book. If you assume that the engine of shredder is not clearly better than rebel then the only possible reason for the fact that it scored better may be better book for shredder. This book helped shredder to get a draw with black against Rebel when another book could lead shredder to worse result from an equal position out of book. It is not important if shredder could win itself from the position out of book against Rebel because shredder played against Rebel and not against itself. Uri
