Also we were told about Junior arriving soon. Also some statements about many many engines until year 2000. And suddenly we read (Gambit-News-Server / Weiner's newsserver) that this is not true and that the engine will arrive in April-May 1998 ! My question is - if so: why are the statements in Computerschach and Spiele this positive. Are the people behind the magazin so uninformed (Friedel is chessBase owner, why is he so uninformed about the release date of junior). I do only see ONE sense in these statements: Ossi Weiner has 3 nice programs in the moment. Shredder2, Mchess7, Nimzo98. All 3 very strong and really nice programs. Friedel and the "chess-base-mafia" don't like this. THEY have no engine in the moment and Fritz started very quiet in Paris. :-) Now they try to desinform the customers. Why ? They want to force the customers NOT to spend their christmas-money on Shredder2, Mchess7 or Nimzo98. They want to suggest, SPARE your money for the cheap chessBase engine. I will not wait until april 98. I will update my Mchess, my Nimz98 and will buy a Shredder2. April98 is far away from here. I don't want to wait. How shall I value the information in such a magazin ? Fritz played against a bunch of "KULINAUTEN" (like Horst always calls not so strong programs) and got 6 points. And the games were not brilliant either.
