It had at least two identified problems:

1.  The opening book.  This is always difficult when you play an "automatically
generated book" vs a "hand-crafted book".  I don't believe the problem is
insurmountable, as otherwise computer chess will _never_ catch up to humans.
But it is a hard problem.

2.  For unknown reasons, it was moving far too quickly.  I am afraid that I may
have given Graham a .craftyrc file with something wrong in it.  We didn't have
much time at all to get ready for this, otherwise I would have had him play a
couple of test games and send me the logs to be sure everything was ok.

Of course, with a better book and better time management, it could have done
even worse...
