I read on GambitSoft three weeks ago that Nimzo 8 was going to be released. At that time I did not placed my order, since I decided to wait and see how strong it was compared to the rest of the top Programs such as: fritz, Shredder, and Chess Tiger. Nimzo 8 did not finished on the first three places of the WMCC due to the last game against Insomniac, but there was a lot of last minute prepared openings which others programmers decided to used, and I don't think that nimzo 8 used any prepared opening during the last three days of the tourney. Another important matter to observe is the strong blitz result in which Nimzo 8 finished tied with Fritz with 8.5 points, before the tie breaker. It is wise to mention that for Blitz, programmers don't have time to prepare a special opening against a particular program, therefore, Nimzo 8 has improved a lot from the previous version, to be a la par with the very best. Because of this impressive result of Nimzo 8, I decided to order Nimzo 8, instead of waiting another two months for the release of Fritz 7 or Shredder 5. Pichard.
