Within Fritz6, Mate 2.0 found mate in 1 immediately. Within Chessbase Crafty 17.11 took 3:43 to find mate; Doctor? took 0:00:01 to find mate. All other engines (Ftitz 6, Fritz 5.32, Faile 1.4.4, Comet B23, and EXchess 3.14) struggled and I stopped the analysis for each engine after about 5 minutes. I was impresssed with both Crafty and Doctor? but was disappointed with both versions of Fritz. Anyone have any idea why in comparison it would take Frtiz longer than Crafty or Doctor? ? James
