Fritz has a very nice feature to help with these. In 'Friend' mode it gradually adjust until you start to beat it. It is automatic. You do not need to do anything but play and win or loose your games. Fritz will play at a level that enables you to win around one in each three matches. It is very 'human like' in that it will loose some piece and then fight to death not to loose. You can use this feature with the other engines included in the pack (like Doctor ?).
