As for Myanmar over the last few years clearly the problem has been known FIDE have done little or nothing to prevent it. There may indeed be 1000 eventually unless FIDE take action. Similar in my eyes to what I have read about England where at one point 1974 they had 0 GM's then 10 years later 12. A lot of those norms also being earned on the home circuit.
