On my computer, (and I'm not sure about all computers) when my computer is starting before it boots into Windows, if I hit the F8 key, I get a boot menu, and that will allow me to select to start the computer in I think it says "command Line" (something like that), ok, but the problem is that you can't go into Windows, if you load the mouse driver in autoexec.bat. So the only way I can really see around this would be to make a system disc, by going to Dos and doing a command like: format a: /s and that should format the floppy into a system disc, and then you'd want to add a customized autoexec.bat and config.sys files, and in autoexec.bat you'd want to load the mouse driver if you have a microsoft type mouse that'll work in Dos, these are the 2 lines in my computer that used to load the mouse driver: SET MOUSE=C:\MOUSE C:\MOUSE\MOUSE.EXE /Q (but Windows 98 commented those lines out), so anyhow, you'd want to boot with that floppy and you'd probably get a workable Dos envirement, but you wouldn't be able to start Windows after that, you'd have to completely restart the computer again. Ok, allot of guess work here, and I just woke up, so try not to get to upset if it doesn't work. It would be easier to just restart the computer into Dos after you had started Windows, and then your mouse driver would already be loaded. MS has gone a long way towards messing things up for Dos users with this version of Windows. Pete
