Fritz 6b has nothing to do with the London version as it's supposedly an update
to 6a, while it was probably a betarelease of Fritz 7 participating in London.
How can you draw conclusions from old service packs to results at WMCCC?

There's no reason to believe that Shredder 5 (or 4.xx) isn't a big catch.
