Both engines had 16 Meg hash table settings and access to tablebases. Fritz 6a ran on my PII-333 and Fritz 6b ran on my K6-3-450. Final score: 29 to 29 with 35 draws. This in spite of Fritz 6b having the faster machine (About 40 ELO points better). The Fritz 6b GUI does have a couple of changes but I can't tell if they mean anything. For instance you can right click on the Database page and two extra menu options come up (Create Mate Training) (Add Tactics Training). I have no idea what these options do. Make your own conclusions. Jim
