You may have hit on a key reason that I have some troubles with 98, I need to study autoexec.bat a little closer, but the new config sys was no longer loading himen.sys, that's solved but there's still things to work out to make everything work the way it should. I did put together a batch file today called mice.bat for loading my mouse driver and I messed around with some Dos Chess programs that use the mouse. So that was nice, but for some reason Fritz3 can't find it's book. And after I fixed config to load himen, I got a little closer to being able to run Dos Comet without first going into Windows, I'll have to figure out what else got messed up in autoexec.bat during the upgrade. > >P.S. Who knows more about DOS in WinMe (or how it's >abbreviated) from the chess-specific viewpoint? I still have Dos 6.22 on this computer, if I hit the F4 key, it loads into that instead of the dreaded 32bit world. If I ever get around to replacing this computer, if Windows no longer has Dos, I'm sure I'll probably install a copy of 6.22 anyhow. If not 6.22, I'll see how well FreeDos is coming along, and I do have a copy of DR-Dos that just got removed recently, it was a very good Dos that also has multitasking (in an unpleasant way) Pete
