If the opponent has only a king you do not have to ask for a draw.
You can lose on time and it is a draw by the rules of chess.

The fastest way to get a draw is simply to stop the clockes and ask the judge
for a draw(I do not know if there is something similiar in chess servers like
ICC but there should be an option to claim a draw without offering it to the
opponent).
