I don't have the answer Larry is looking for but I would appreciate a clarification on "bm" vs. "pv". It is my understanding that what follows "bm" is a list of candidate "best moves" for the position. All moves in the list to be made by either white or black (whichever side it is to move in the position). And that what follows "pv" is the "principal variation" from the position with moves for both white and black. In the case of "bm" in the EPD, is an evaluation, "ce", appropriate or is an evaluation only appropriate for "pv". Also, can "bm" and "pv" both be in the EPD for a position? Steve
