Subject: xboard problem starting engine

I'm having problems getting xboard 4.0.0 to start my engine when
logging into an ICS (namely ICC).

If I enter the command "xboard -fcp "prophet" " xboard starts the
engine.  In the about box, it says "xboard 4.0.0 + prophet".  I can
play the engine and everything is good.....

With the command line "xboard -ics -fcp "prophet" ", xboard starts
in ICS client mode _without_ the engine.  In the about box, it
simply says "xboard 4.0.0".

Perhaps (and probably) I'm missing something simple here - I'm
still learning how to get around in Linux.

Help greatly appreciated. :-)
