It would in fact be interesting to hear, by which rules Fritz (the GUI in this
case, I assume - or some short term calculation?) decides if the tactics,
positional or endgame engine is to use in a certain position. Obviously it
cannot be expected, that it will choose the positional engine in the positional
part of the LCT II Test just because someone has called them "positional". Btw.,
does it use the tactical engine in the tactical test positions always? I'd be
surprised.

Although ChessBase has offered these settings since Fritz 4, I can't remember
any user reports or whatever about that. I don't think that there has been
gathered much experience with it.

If you can gain any information about how it operates, I'd be interested in it
too. For example, is it possible to match two such combinations of engines
against each other? I think this should be possible at least with two machines,
but I'm not sure... I have only the F6 demo, and not the patience at the moment
to try all of that.

Seems I'm not a major league addict. :-)
