Firstly, thanks Will for doing all this work. I think 4-5 Nov is as good a date as you'll get. I'm really keen on nine rounds, what does everyone else think? I figure that I'm going to have to pretty much sacrifice that weekend anyway, so may as well get in as many games as is reasonably possible. Lets consider how long a 30 10 game takes. Assume 60 moves, so we have 60 minutes + (120*10)sec = 80 minutes Also, with decent seedings the first rounds tend to take much less time. Any competent DOP can manually do a swiss draw in next to no time, and of course there are automatic programs to do this now too. > >Regarding playing unattended, I think that it's not really in the spirit of the >event to play without being present. This will give time for a short break, or to catch up time. Perhaps someone could get the maximum number of moves from each round in CCT1 to give us an idea of how long the games go for? >(west coast USA first round 6am, europe finishes last round about midnight) > >Current participants: > >Amateur Will Singleton >Amy Thorsten Greiner (Stefan Fredriksson operates) >Arasan Jon Dart >Averno Jose Carlos >Crafty Bob Hyatt >Diep Vincent Diepeveen >EXchess Dan Homan >Grok Peter Kappler >Hossa Steffen Jakob (possible) >Junior Amir Ban / Shay Bushinsky >Mint Christian Söderström >LambChop Peter McKenzie >PostModernist Andrew Williams >Shrike Dan Newman >Storm Sean Empey >Tinker Brian Richardson >Terra Peter Fendrich (possible)
