I can understand it if the programmer is an "amateur".  Well, not really.
Whether the programmer is "amateur" or "professional", I would think that
minimally, the tester would be given a copy of the final product as compensation
for their effort.  The burden is on the programmer to select good testers so as
not to put too many "free" copies on the market.

Just my opinion.  But if the testers are not given production copies, then I
have enough information to answer the poll.
