You can't make a conclusion like that. No WinBoard engine using the WinBoard
adapter supports multiple lines of analysis to my knowledge. Only Chessbase
native versions do. Apparently, that doesn't go for all judging from your test.
There can be many reasons for that, ie. the approach Chessbase uses in altering
the source code supplied by the authors (EXchess and Faile). Ikarus is probably
compiled by the author himself, so that's his decision. The conclusion is:
WinBoard adapter based programs can't and most native engines can. Does that
imply a difference between native and non-native engines when it comes to
analysis features? Yes, it does.
