The little wascal has spiwit! Bwavado, a touch of dewwing-do.
Stwike him, centuwion, vewwy woughly!

Actually I was just poking fun at the fuzzy double crowd. I get the latest games
once a week with the automatic TWIC download, ChessBase warns me if I try to
import them into the main database twice, and everything's cool. I haven't
hunted down doubles since the days I was using a disk monitor to fix files on my
hard disk (in hex). But hey, I'm not your typical hard-core games collector, I
suppose.

So how are you enjoying CB8? I just spent an hour trying to do an "Output HTML"
(like the one mentioned in a previous post) directly from the list window to my
ftp site. Doesn't work. I defined the site in "My network places", I can select
it in the file save window, I can see all the remote directories and open them,
I can see the files there, rename, copy or delete them, but when I try to write
the new file Windows says "You cannot save in the folder you specify. Please
choose another location." The reason it gives is, as usual, [ ]. It's
infuriating. Windows lets me go 97% of the way and then says "sorry, no can do".
Any idea what's wrong?

Another "problem": When I have a game loaded in CB8 and press Ctrl-C the
notation is copied into the clipboard. If you use a special tool to view the
contents of the clipboard you can see that CB8 has copied the game in plain
text, but also PGN, HTML, CBV, FEN, RTF, bitmap diagrams, etc. This is all
stored together in the clipboard.

In normal editors I can only insert plain text with Ctrl-V. Word takes the RTF
on Ctrl-V, including diagrams in the correct fonts, but I can also use "Paste
special" to get plain text and a bitmap board. Fritz grabs the CBV or PGN when
you press Ctrl-V.

But where and how can I insert the HTML, which is there in the clipboard in full
glory? In FrontPage and Dreamweaver pressing Ctrl-V always inserts the plain
text contents, and there are no options to do anything else.

Do you or does anyone else have any ideas? I mean it's just cherries on the cake
(it's trivially easy to write any of the above formats to a file and work on
from there), but it's annoying not to be able to use what you have.
