I personally take chess programming as a challenge and really believe it makes
me better by helping me to better understand the world.
I think better understanding of the world we are living in makes us really
better, in all aspects. And I'm sure my work on computer chess improved my
understanding.
That's why I don't feel as guilty as before spending so much time in it.
I of course understand and respect your reasons. Maybe you'll find a compromise
with yourself and the commands you are talking about, and maybe we will see you
back again (spending maybe less time than before, but still spending a little
bit on it).

That's something I understand very well. :)
I have myself to find good compromises on this matter, all the time! :)
