yeah i agree about everyone having differant opinions, but as far as computer
chess is concerned "stats" or 'data' is more important than just 'opinions'
though i hardly stop myself from giving my opinions ;)
I agree and know that crafty is 'currently' (and also in recent history) been
the strongest freeware chess engine.
but there are other freeware chess engine which are, maybe not as strong, but
*very* close to crafty, probably a factor of 30-40 elo, which probably doesnt
make a big differance (my opinion) in a given set of games.
thats why I said crafty not winning the BOC wont be a surprise.
but hey, the BOC is not over yet, it still has half-way to go !!
your system is not screwed up, its probably because you just didnt play enough
game.
Amy is "not" better than crafty, it just gives crafty hard time (probably
because amy's playing strength doesnt suit crafty), just like crafty (probably)
gives gandalf a hard time :)
