I can see from the SSDF tests that the chessbase version of SOS is much stronger
than the winboard engine, the question is why? Is it a matter of a version
compatable with the GUI or improvements in the engine? Do you know if the
Chessbase conversion of your Comet is similar to what they've done for SOS or
could it too become stronger when made completely compatible?

I've been running a series of 20 game matches between the top ten winboard
programs(in winboard interface) and after 180 games Comet and Sos are in a tie
for 3rd place.
